SWPP Competition Gold!

I am delighted to tell everyone who read our blog that we have won a gold for the SWPP bridal portraiture competition for November. This is my first attempt at entering any wedding photography competitions, both Callie and I are very pleased!

Here is the winning picture of Andrea and Unico on Black Rock Sands, Morfa Bychan, North Wales.

Richard Hammond portraits

I have just been sent some copies of news paper articles with portraits that National Geographic Channel commissioned me to take of Richard Hammond during the shooting of an episode of "Engineering Connections" at Wembley stadium.

I thought I'd better start putting stuff like this up to show what I'm up to outside of wedding photography!

Richard was as you can imagine a great laugh to work with, he was exactly the same in character as when appearing on Top Gear. We had a brilliant conversation about the attributes of Billingham camera bags and Porsches!

Andrea's comments about her "Trash the Dress" shoot.

"Riding through the sea and walking hand in hand into the sunset with my new husband was a great and exciting experience, but I never could have dreamed that the photos taken on that evening would look so amazing. The whole experience was magical. Expertly directed by Gwynn, everything just seemed to fall into place. He knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it so we had no need to worry. We just enjoyed ourselves and had a good laugh, but then nearly cried with joy when we saw the photos. We can’t thank Gwynn enough – the perfect ending to an amazing wedding." Andrea.

Thanks Andrea, I had a great time too! Gwynn

Trash the Dress with Andrea, Paul and Unico 24.09.09

Andrea and Paul commissioned me for our first "Trash the Dress" shoot. Andrea was keen to do something a bit different and wanted to include Unico, her amazing and very beautiful Portuguese bred horse. I suggested Black Rock Sands which is one of my favourite beaches in North Wales with its wide expanse of sand and plenty of evening sun, great for reflections. We were lucky, the dramatic sky was out with the sun shining, Unico was enjoying the camera, behaving perfectly. This is one of the most exciting shoots to date, in the end we were all soaked below the waist and caked in sand, not to mention Andrea seriously trashing her dress. Please enjoy..
